Today’s Lesson:

Today I’m going to show you a really cool app called Facetune. This is the best app for “tweaking” portraits. If you are trying to correct skin tone, erase blemishes or moles, blur backgrounds, erase wrinkles(!) then you will want this app ๐Ÿ™‚

Get it for iPhone here

I’m going to show you some examples of how you can go from the photo on the left below to the one on the right – in less than a few minutes! Now you won’t need photoshop to fix your portraits ๐Ÿ™‚

First of all choose your photo (this photo is included in the app so you can practice with it)

photo 2 (3)

One of my favorite features is the Whiten feature! Zoom in and whiten those teeth!

photo 3 (3)

The smooth tooth helps you even out the skintone, simply swipe your finger across where you want it to smooth out.

The reshape feature can be fun too!

My other favorite feature is the Patch tool: this is the one where you can erase blemishes, moles, etc.

photo 4 (2)

Add a filter – there are lots of cool ones to choose from.

Defocus or blur some of the areas in your photo.

Add a frame!

Change the lens for a totally different look!

Conclusion:

This really is the best photo editor app that I have worked with – you can completely change your portrait and add some cool effects. The only downside I suppose is that the app costs $2.99 right now. I actually purchased mine awhile ago while it was on sale so if you really want this and you don’t want to shell out the 3 bucks for it, keep a watch on it in the app store – you may be able to grab it when it goes on sale again. ๐Ÿ™‚ Another downside is that it isn’t available for Android devices yet, but hopefully they are working on it!
