Today we are going to work on some space saver storage solutions. If you have limited space, then you know how hard it can be to find places to keep all your stuff. I have that problem everyday and I really hate clutter. Let’s continue working on the bathroom. We have a small bathroom with very limited storage space so I have already had to purge and get rid of a lot of stuff we simply do not use or have the room for.

Now is the time to go grab those nifty boxes you labeled on Day 1. Start with your drawers and cupboards. Pull everything out, wipe down the shelves/drawers, and start filling those boxes. If you did the challenges on day 2 & 3, you should have a nicely cleaned and organized medicine cabinet and possibly a drawer or 2 already done. Don’t forget to check dates on your cosmetics and medications and toss anything that is too old. Ask yourself: are you really going to use that old scrunchy? The hair crimper seemed like a great idea a decade ago, but now? Am I ever going to use this glitter lotion? Probably not right? So put it all into the donate box or the trash box. Good job.

Use plastic bins in your cupboards and group like items together. I have one bin for all my hair products as well my hair dryer and hair straightener fit right in as well. Then we have a bin for new boxes of toothpaste, mouthwash, etc. All my makeup is now in one portable make up bag.

A great way to get some extra storage is to get one of those cloth hanging shoe bags – you know – the ones with all the little pockets. These are wonderful for storing other small items – not just shoes! Hang one on the back of your bathroom door and you suddenly have room to hold all kinds of things.

Check out our pinterest gallery for more ways to use these shoe bags as well as other ideas for bathroom organization. Then we’re done with bathrooms, I promise. And tomorrow, we’ll move on to another area of the house 🙂

  1. I never thought of the shoe organizer! What a great idea! I have one that I actually don’t even use for shoes because I found myself annoyed with it so I think I am going to get that out and try it! My husband, me and my son all use a different kind of toothpaste, different body soap, different shampoo and conditioner, just three of us and our bathroom looks like ten people live here! Thanks for the tips
