Every now and again I get a bug to try something new. Well while looking through an old magazine I came across a picture of a table set for breakfast with German Pancakes. Now I have never heard of German pancakes before, or obviously tried them. So my search began. I checked out a few recipes I found on Taste of Home, Real Simple and Smitten Kitchen, and they all basically had the same theme in common. Easy, German Pancakes are incredibly easy to make. And from what I can tell, easier than traditional pancakes, since there is no flipping involved, so no chance of burning one side, under cooking the middle or having heat to or low on your griddle or pan.
Of course my husband is always willing to try any of my experiments, so when I showed him a few of the pictures I found online of German Pancakes, he was all for me trying it out. Well let me say this, these are AWESOME! I think I just found my go to breakfast for Christmas and Easter. It would also be perfect for creating something special when guests are in town.
I hope you enjoy this simple recipe, and feel free to share if you modify it at all. I am always looking for new things to try. ( A printable Version of this Recipe is at the bottom of this post)

ENJOY! – These are really great with fresh fruit, cool whip, or Maple syrup. Which is how we ate them!

Hello from Germany,
The ingredients are right but we put it into a pan and flip it once one side is done. Never heard of put it into the oven 😉
Greetings, Nadine
Tried these this morning. My husband and I both thought they were great. I did not use a non stick pan and they did stick to the pan. I would either try a non stick pan next time or possibly greasing the pan before adding the batter. Still yummy. Thanks!
I lost my recipe my grandma gave me so thank you, also she added the butter to the pan then put it in the oven to get hot then added the batter. We eat ours with powdered sugar and lemon juice, it’s amazing!
