Toddler Art – Easy Valentine’s Day Banner Tutorial

It may be no surprise to you that I love banners (you will find a few banner tutorials on here that I made!), so for Valentine’s Day I really wanted to make something that incorporated some of the finger paint art that my toddler has made. This turned out better than I imagined and it was so simple!

What you will need:

Your kids artwork (I used plain white doodle paper and had my daughter finger paint all over it)

Scissors
Twine
Book paper
Stapler
Glue or other adhesive

1. Start by having your child create some artwork for you. I taped a large piece of white doodle paper onto my toddlers art table then I let her go wild with finger paints!

2. Once they are finished creating their masterpiece, let the paint dry then cut hearts from the painting. I just freehand cut all mine and I wanted them all to be different sizes and shapes.

3. For the actual banner pieces I used book paper from a standard sized pocket paperback book. I simply cut a triangle out of the bottom of each page.

4. Glue your hearts onto the banner pages.

5. Next cut a piece of twine longer than what you plan to need for your entire banner, you can trim it down later. Fold over the top of one of the banner pages about 1 inch. Leave at least 16 inches on one end of your twine and then place it along the crease of the banner page (as in above photo).
