One of the key elements to making my daughter’s rustic wedding (ok Rustic Chic or Victorian Wedding) look elegant and rustic at the same time was all about incorporating Wine Barrels into the main features of the decor. Purchasing a wine barrel for the wedding seemed a little excessive, so renting one was the next best solution. Yes you can do that, rent wine barrels!
I came across WineBarrelRentals.com of KatyBarrelCompany.com and everything fell into place. I wish I would have had the space to use more of their products for the wedding. Especially their wine barrel bars, wine barrel coolers and wine barrel trash cans, but as we were traveling 2500 miles in a minivan with one teenager and two preschoolers, we just didn’t have anymore room to bring more with us. For those local to them, all I can say is, you are so LUCKY!
So when deciding on how many wine barrels we wanted to use, we decided on two. One for the ceremony, to be used as the Communion Table and another for the Reception, to be used at the Cake Table.
With some cheesecloth (from BurlapFabric.com) the groom’s aunt beautifully wrapped it the wine barrel to give it a little more of a tie in to the arbor. With floral wire, she also attached a burlap bow and a few fresh flowers.
For the cake table I placed a vintage square lace table cloth on it and adorned a burlap bow to tie in the theme. This was also the location we decided to place the hashtag sign on the wine barrel, as everyone would at one point look at the cake.
