This is one of the easiest and quickest projects I’ve made – and I absolutely love the outcome! This is a great project for kids to make too. The best thing is you can make one of these for any season or occasion – simply switch up the fabric colors! This is a great way to use up all those fabric scraps that you may have kicking around too 🙂 Oh and the best part – you don’t even have to know how to sew to make this!
What you’ll need:
Fabric scraps – cut about 1 inch wide by at least 5 or 6 inches long (you can trim them down afterwards)
Ribbon or twine
1. Cut your fabric scraps into 5 or 6 inch long pieces by 1 inch wide (or wider if you like). I like to vary the width of mine, it makes the garland look funkier 🙂
2. Cut a piece of ribbon or twine about 1 foot longer than the total length you’d like your banner to be. Tie a loop in either end.
3. Now have fun tying all your fabric pieces to your ribbon then voila! A gorgeous and fun garland 🙂
4. If you find your fabric pieces are too long once they are tied onto the garland, simply trim the ends to your desired length.
this is so sweet! and the kids can help- my fave kind of craft
