We have another great giveaway for you! This one is for a copy of this fabulous book: The New Green Smoothie Diet Solution. The author, Elizabeth Swann (who is a total sweetheart!) contacted me a few weeks ago and asked if I would review her book. She agreed to do a giveaway as well so one of you lucky readers will receive a paperback copy of her book.
I assure you, you will not be disappointed by this book. I was really excited to read it as I have been incorporating more fruits and veggies into both my diet and that of my 10 month old daughter. This book could not have come at a better time for me. It was an easy read, and an interesting one at that. It follows a lot of my beliefs (such as the benefits of buying organic produce) and it is full of great recipes! I actually read the entire thing one afternoon while my baby was napping. And I’ve gone back to reference several sections numerous times since. I was pleasantly surprised at how many recipes this book has, and its broken into different areas: smoothies for detox, smoothies for weight loss, etc.
Now you must keep an open mind when trying your first few smoothie recipes. Broccoli in a smoothie? Say what? I would never have thought to add something like broccoli to a smoothie. Kale, yes. Spinach, yes. Dandelion greens? ummm…what? But guess what? My favorite smoothie recipe was one with broccoli! And I didn’t even taste the broccoli! By pairing it with berries, it masks the broccoli flavor but you are still getting all those great nutrients. I even gave some of this smoothie to my husband and he drank it all up, as did our daughter.
For the next week, I busily went about trying as many smoothies from this book as I could. Some I liked more than others, some I absolutely loved! I have now even turned my husband into a lover of green smoothies, which I didn’t think would ever happen.
I even went on Amazon and bought one of the author’s other books: 3 Day Green Smoothie Detox: The Faster, Better, Stronger Weight Loss Plan
I really enjoyed this one too as it was full of completely different recipes than the first book, and this one goes into a lot more detail on how to do a healthy detox.
All in all, I was thrilled with both the authors books, and I highly recommend them. If you’d like to be entered into the contest to win a copy of The New Green Smoothie Diet Solution, please enter below. Good luck!
