Some Websites to Help You Create a Good Scrapbook

Scrapbooking is a hot activity. Everyone wants to turn their photos and memories into something more than a Facebook post. Scrapbooking is fun and brings out your creativity, and you really don’t have to be artistic at all to be able to do it. Whether you’re just starting out or looking for some new inspiration, here are some of the best scrapbooking websites you should check out.

Scrapbooking.About.com –  About.com has some really great collections of information on a very wide variety of topics, and their “How to Get Started Scrapbooking” page is a great collection of articles and resources. There are articles about basic scrapbooking principles and design ideas (like focal points and the rule of odds); there are how-to videos and articles on everything from simple scrapping to advanced; there’s lots of information about the supplies you’ll need or want, too. Whether you’re new to scrapbooking or just looking for some fresh inspiration, this is a great place to start.
Scrapbook.LifeTips.com – This website is interesting because it doesn’t contain any visuals; it contains only all-text articles. When you delve into them, however, you’ll find a lot of great ideas for new projects and techniques. There are sections on everything from baby scrapbooks to recipe scrapbooks to scrapbooking trends. Check it out whenever you’re in the mood to read.
Everything-About-Scrapbooking.com – This website contains exactly what you’d expect it to – everything about scrapbooking. It has photos of user-submitted layouts, videos on techniques, and suggestions of quotes to include in your books. There is a beginner’s guide to scrapbooking, as well as tips on how to organize your supplies. Scrapbooking on a budget? There are also ideas on how you can create amazing pages and books without spending a fortune. It also has a section on digital scrapbooking if you want to try your hand at a virtual book.
ScrapbooksEtc.com – This is a great, well-organized website for people who love to scrapbook about anything and everything. With a free membership, you’ll have access to printable page templates, cut-outs, and patterns. You’ll see ideas for themes like holidays, pets, and vacations. There is also professional information on how to do different techniques like embellishing and stamping, and tips on how to take better photographs.
ObsessedwithScrapbooking.com – A woman named Joy with a scrapbooking obsession maintains this blog. There are lots of updates with new project ideas and how-to’s, and it’s a great site for someone with a little more scrapbooking experience. It’s also a good place to go if you’re interested in crafting in general. She also has a lot of ideas on how to make some great cards. All the ideas here look great.
CreatingKeepsakesBlog.com – Creating Keepsakes is another great blog with lots of good ideas and projects. If you love the site, you can also subscribe to the Crafting Keepsakes magazine. There are how-to’s, contests, videos, and forums where you can chat with other scrapbookers, too. And if you’re looking for supplies, you can check out the editor’s picks for cool new products. There’s also information on digital scrapbooking, too.

Thanks for all the fun websites.  I agree with you that scrapbooking is far better than just putting pictures on facebook of some other social network.
