Snapshot 30 Class: Learn How to Take Better Photos {Day 16}

Snapshot 30: Learn how to take better photos with your smartphone.

Included in this class:

– Fun daily photo challenges for 30 days.
– Tons of app reviews so you know what is worth your time and what isn’t
– Tips and tricks for how to take sensational photos with your smartphone

*If you don’t have a smartphone you can still participate in the challenges with a regular camera. The tips and tricks should be useful to you as well. 🙂

Sign up for this class here (if you haven’t already done so)

Each day for 30 days you will receive an email with that day’s challenge, tips & tricks and app reviews. Only the emails will have certain tips and tricks – so that is the bonus for signing up for them 🙂

Also I have decided to give away a couple prizes!

2 class participants will get a spot in my upcoming brand new techniques class: Techniques 104 – debuting in December! Also they will get access to my 3 other Technique classes (101, 102, and 103).

How to win:

All you need to do is participate in this class 🙂 Easy right? For every comment, question, or photo that you share with us you get one entry. So the more you participate, the better chance you have of winning! You can comment/post on our facebook page, the actual Snapshot 30 post of the day on the Homeketeers site, on a Snapshot 30 related post on my site, or through Instagram (each time you tag us).

Ready to get started? If you have any questions please comment below on this post, and chances are if you are wondering about something, then someone else is too 🙂

Today’s Lesson:

Today I’m going to show you an app called Story (this is also by Disney but just keep reading, k?). Also I promise this will be the last Disney app that I will show you guys 🙂 Really worth it for this one though, as it’s quite unique and you may really like it.

Get it for iphone here

 phonto

Whereas this app is fairly straightforward, you will need a few minutes (or more) to play around with this to see exactly how it works. Once you do though, I bet you will want to keep creating fun “stories” to share – it’s quite fun! Basically what it is – it lets you use your photos and videos to create stories to personalize and share with others. You can add music too! Don’t be scared away by the “Disney” aspect of it, yes there are Disney themes you can use but they have regular non-Disney looking themes as well.

Here is an example that I put together to show you how it works:

photo 3 (7)

Start off by choosing a theme to go with. There is a Disney theme but I chose a regular neutral theme.

photo 1 (5)

Add your photos from your cameraroll or take a new photo or video.

photo 2 (6)

Your photos will be imported in and now you can play around with them! Simply click on the photo you want to edit and you can zoom in or out, move it around, delete it, or change the template setup.

photo 3 (6)

Add a caption to any of the photos that you wish to.

When you’re all finished you can share it on facebook or email it. Easy peasy!!

Story app Review:

The Good:

– It’s free!

– It’s very straightforward and easy to use

– It’s a very unique and cool concept and fun too!

– Can use photos or videos

– Can have it Disney themed or non Disney themed

The Not so Good:

– Sorry right now it’s only available for iPhones and iPads

In Conclusion:

This is a fun, well designed app and it’s FREE! Even though I am a big Disney fan, I like that you are able to use this app and not have Disney themed stuff plastered all over your photos (unless you want to of course!). This is a great thing to have when you have family living far away – it’s quick to create a cute story and email it off to the grandparents 🙂

Today’s Photo Challenge

1. Day in your life (try doing a collage)

Remember there are bonus challenges in the daily emails.   Be sure to tag us (#snapshot30 , @jessacs & @homeketeers) so we can see your photo. You can also post your photo on our facebook page for everyone to see. (and you’ll get bonus entries into the contest!). I’ll also be playing along so you can see my daily challenge photos on my blog and also my Instagram account.

Please leave any comments or questions below and I will be sure to answer right away 🙂
