editing

Today’s Lesson:

Today I’m going to review the Aviary Photo Editing App. It is available for both iPhone and Android and is Free!

Aviary:

Get it for iphone here

Get it for Android here

First I will start out by saying that yes, I have reviewed many other photo editing apps and yes here is yet another one. However, if you like to tweak all aspects of your photos (sharpen, blur, brightness, color saturation, enhancing, photo effects, color balance, crop, rotate, add text, contrast, color temp, and more) then you will really enjoy this app.

here are a few examples of what this app can do:

photo 1 (4)

Enhance, add photo effects (comes with some nice free filters, and there are many more you can purchase), add a frame or add some stickers (have to admit that the free ones are kind of lame. But there are many better looking assortments available for purchase).

You can fix red eye directly from here as well, whiten and add text.

photo 5 (2)

You can freehand draw (or doodle) right on your photo as well, this is a feature I really like!

photo 4 (2)

Another cool feature is the focus tool: it allows you to choose a part of the photo that you want to be in focus and the rest of the photo gets blurred. LOVE this!

photo 5 (1)

In the settings of the app it allows you to choose which tools you want visible, this is a really cool feature – you can completely customize this app for yourself.

Once you’re all done, email your photo or share it to twitter, instagram, facebook, etc.

Aviary App Review:

The Good:

– It’s free!

– It’s very straightforward and easy to use

– It has a very extensive list of tools you can use to edit your photos

– Able to use a photo from your camera roll or take a new photo

– Email, or upload to Twitter, facebook, instagram, and more!

The Not so Good:

– The only thing I could really find as a downside to this was that you can’t save your photo directly to your camera roll. Also the amount of free effects, stickers, frames, etc are minimal so in order to get the really good ones you need to pay for them.

In Conclusion:

I think this is a great app for editing all aspects of your photos. If you are just looking for basic effects, frames, etc then what you get in the free version should be sufficient. I would definitely recommend downloading this app and trying it out.

Today’s Photo Challenge

1. Spots

Remember there are bonus challenges in the daily emails.   Be sure to tag us (#snapshot30 , @jessacs & @homeketeers) so we can see your photo. You can also post your photo on our facebook page for everyone to see. (and you’ll get bonus entries into the contest!). I’ll also be playing along so you can see my daily challenge photos on my blog and also my Instagram account.

Please leave any comments or questions below and I will be sure to answer right away 🙂
