The Walt Disney World Wedding Pavilion has some wonderful displays of potential wedding tables based on themes.  This particular theme, the Coney Island Wedding (or Party) theme is one I particularly like.  I think it is quite lovely for a Summer wedding or Summer party.  I envision a backyard party, or wedding under a tent…. I think it is even possible to take pieces of this theme and work them into a child’s party theme, for instance a Minnie Mouse Party.

The Invitations are Simple enough:

Polka Dot paper with coordinating ribbon, Solid color paper with coordinating ribbons.  Cut a large square from the polka dot paper, cut a smaller square from the solid color square, wrap ribbons around smaller square, use sticker letters or letters cut with your Cricut or Silhouette, to create your message, attach smaller square to front, turn over and attach the information for your event on a printed piece of solid paper.

Place Cards:

Two pieces of card stick paper in coordinating colors, sticker letters or letters cut with your Cricut or Silhouette.  Cut one piece of paper to 6 inches in length and 2 1/2 wide, fold in half.  Cut other piece of paper into a rectangle 2 x 2.5.  Attach together

Center Pieces:

You Will Need:

Glass Vases2.5″ wide solid ribbon1/2″ polka dot ribbonHot Glue Gun and Glue SticksCoordinating glass marbles or vase gillerOne Tall flower (Sunflower works great!)

Glue 2.5″ inch ribbon to vase, Glue 1/2 ribbon on top of in the center – Fill 1/4 with filler, Add Flower

These simple Summer Sleepover Invitations are a perfect way to spread the news of your party!  And they are so simple to make!

For these invitations, I used the Grapefruit Collection and the Build a Banner Template from Hot Off the Press.

Materials Needed:

• Double Sided Paper – I used the Grapefruit Paper Pack Collection
• Build a Banner Template
• Tiny Tags & Little Labels Template
• Heartfelt Greeting Stamps from Hot Off the Press
• Well Preserved Stamps from Hot Off the Press
• Black ink – I only had a crayola marker
• adhesive of your choice

Step One:  Trace & Cut out the Large Flag on your paper and on a contrasting paper, Trace & Cut out the Small Flag

Step Two: Using the Tiny Tags & Little Labels trace the Petite Pocket, (mark the folds too) & cut out

Step Three: Fold Edges of Petite Pocket and attach.

Step Four:  Attach Little Flag to Large Flag, then pocket on top of small flag

Step Five: Trace the Small Banner on a solid color piece of paper, cut out

Step Six:  Use the Well Preserved Stamps and your choice of ink, stamp your message on a solid piece of paper – now if you remember from my earlier post ( Pretty Little Purses ) – I don’t have my supplies with me, so I have to improvise with the stamp, and I attached it to a CD case and use a crayola marker for ink

Step Seven:  Attach your solid stamped piece of paper to back side of large flag

Step Eight:  Fill in your Party Details

Now for the little Pocket on the front of your invitation, you could stuff a little candy bar in there, a note, a movie ticket…. or make a little embellishment like I did:

To make this little pocket filler, I cut a rectangle piece of paper, an extra small flag and a little label.  I stamped the label with a GoodTimes stamp, glued it all together and added a little springy embellishment (directions for the how to on the springy piece is below)

To make the little Springey Embellishments:

Cut a small rectangle strip of paper, cut down 3/4 of the way four times:

Curl each strip by rolling down, Then attach to your project, and lay the curls how you want.

For this cute banner, I used the Grapefruit Collection and the Build a Banner Template from Hot Off the Press. I can see myself using this template a lot! There are so many banner sizes and styles on this one template, and it’s very straightforward and easy to use.

What you’ll need:

• Build a Banner Template
• Patterned paper
• Scissors
• Pencil
• Optional: sewing machine
• Glue
• String or ribbon
• Optional: inks and distressing tool

1. Trace your desired template onto your patterned paper. I only used about 4 sheets of paper for this entire banner! I traced and cut out 10 medium triangle banners and 10 small triangle banners.

2. Cut out all your banners

3. I inked all my larger sized banners with Jumbo Java chalk ink.

4. For the smaller banners, I wanted them to look distressed so I ran my distressing tool along all the edges.

5. Next I got out my sewing machine and I sewed a small size banner onto a larger sized one. I simply LOVE to incorporate sewing into my paper crafts. I love the look and also how easy it is!

6. Once each large banner had a small one sewed onto it, I sewed each banner together in a strip. I left about an inch between each, and enough thread on either end to make a loop (so it can be hung afterwards).

For this tutorial, I used the Playful Pinwheels template by Hot Off the Press. This is an awesome template, it really is, as it includes many different sizes and styles of pinwheels. Both single and double pinwheels too.

What You Will Need:

• Playful Pinwheels template
• scissors
• double sided paper (I used the Grapefruit collection by Hot Off the Press)
• Pencil
• Optional: brads, Crop a Dile
• Toothpicks
• Tape

1. Choose your paper and a pinwheel size you’d like to make on your template.

2. Trace the template onto your paper.

3. Cut all the way to the end of the line you drew, all 4 sides around the square.

4. Pull in the “tail” on each corner all the way into the middle. If you make the largest pinwheel, you can secure them with a brad. The largest template has hole markers to show you where to punch the holes. Simply thread the brad through all those holes. It’s a little tricky the first time you do it.

5. For the cupcake toppers I made the small size pinwheels. You can leave them like this – a single pinwheel, or double them up to make a cool double pinwheel.

6. Lay the pinwheel face down and tape a toothpick to the back side.

I didn’t realize it was going to be so easy to make these! Now you can make your own cupcake wrappers to match whatever theme your party or event is. And it will only take minutes to make these! I Used the Grapefruit line of papers by Hot Off the Press for these.

What you’ll need:

Patterned paper

Scissors

Pencil

Cupcake Wrapper template (I used this one)

Tape or Glue

Optional: Decorative scissors

1. Print and cut out the template,  trace onto your patterned paper using a pencil.

2. Cut out the wrappers and erase the remaining pencil lines if you need to.

3. Using one of your cupcakes, wrap one of the wrappers around it and secure with a piece of tape (or glue)

You can leave them as is, or before taping, get creative with the edges. Try using a paper crimper to crimp the entire wrapper. Or use decorative scissors along the top of the wrapper edges or you can even freehand cut a design as I did on this one.

You will need:

- 1 sheet patterened paper, cardstock weight

- bone folder

- adhesive

- pillowbox template. (there are lots of them online – do a google search under images)

1. Cut out your pillowbox template and trace it onto your patterned paper

2. Cut the pillowbox shape out of the patterned paper.

3. Lay the template on top of the patterned paper cut out and trace the lines with a bone folder. Press hard.

4. Fold along all the lines, press with bone folder if needed

5. Carefully fold in the side flaps, this can be a little tricky

6. Glue the small flap to the inside of the box

7. Fold sides in on both sides and your box is complete!

Add some ribbon, embellishments and a tag and it’s ready to give as a gift.
